Initially I was planning to only track my progress by change in weight measured using my bathroom scale. I am glad I didn’t as I have since noticed significant fluctuations from day to day and even throughout the course of an individual day. On top of that, I hope to be losing fat while simultaneously building muscle so it is possible that I won’t see significant changes in weight over time. Which is where my Insanity before and after pictures come in.
You see, the solution I came up with was to add additional methods of tracking my progress (and I suggest you do the same). What this means is a variety of body measurements in addition to weight, pictures and of course the results of my Insanity fit tests.
I will be updating each of these metrics on the same day, roughly every second week when a new fit test has been completed. You can follow along with my fit test results and body measurements here. Pictures will be displayed below on this page.
May 13 Update – Fit Test 3
I have just completed the third fit test on day 36 and updated the pictures below. I have lost 9 pounds to date and it is starting to show. In addition, I am also noticing an elevation in my energy levels. My assumption is that this has to do with the general state of my health, but there are so many factors that go into this (quality of sleep, weather, placebo, etc.) that I can’t credit this entirely to Insanity. That said, the significant drop in my resting heart rate is probably a good indicator that, yes, my health has improved drastically.

My Insanity Before And After Pictures
As I mentioned above, I have only finished the day 36 fit test. I don’t yet have my final before and after pictures but I do have before pictures and day 36 pictures, available below. Insanity before and after pictures will be available when I finish the entire workout on 9 June.
And please do me a huuuuge favor: ignore the ridiculous tan and shoulder scar… Thanks!

Even after losing 35 pounds before starting this workout, you can see that on day 1 I still have quite a bit to go. In particular, the ‘love handles’ are still quite apparent. But have no fear – I will get there with the help of Insanity! If anyone is curious about my before-before pictures (I believe from April 2012, but I can double check if/when I dig them up) let me know and I can post them here as well.
